Coldplay on vuonna 1997 perustettu brittiläinen rockyhtye, Coldplayn jäsenet ovat laulaja-pianisti Chris Martin, basisti Guy Berryman, kitaristi Jon Buckland ja rumpali Will Champion. Vuonna 1998 Coldplay julkaisi ensimmäisen EP-levynsä viidelläsadalla kopiolla ja sai sitä kautta levytyssopimuksen EMI:n tytäryhtiöltä Parlophonelta.

Coldplayn ensimmäisen albumin nimi oli “Parachutes” joka julkaistiin vuonna 2000, toisen albumin nimi oli” A rush of blood to the head” julkaistiin vuonna 2002, kolmannen albumin nimi oli “X&Y” joka julkaistiin vuonna 2005, neljäs albumi julkaistiin vuonna 2008 ja se oli nimeltään “Viva la vida or Death and all his friends” Kaikki Coldplayn albumit ovat menestyneet kaupallisesti. Coldplay on voittanut lukuisia Grammyja ja Brit Awardseja.

Parachutes (1999 – 2001)

Coldplayn ensinnäinen albumi, Parachutes, julkaistiin heinäkuussa 2000. Albumi nousi Britannian albumilistan sijalle yksi. Kappaleita ”Yellow” ja ”Trouble” soitettiin paljon radioissa sekä Britanniassa että Yhdysvalloissa. Yhdysvalloissa Parachutes myi tuplaplatinaa. Kriitikot ottivat albumin hyvin vastaan, ja se voittikin vuoden 2002 Grammy-palkintogaalassa vuoden vaihtoehtoalbumin palkinnon. Parlophone oli ennustanut albumin myyntimääräksi 400 000 kopiota, mutta jouluun mennessä sitä oli myyty pelkästään Britanniassa jo 1,6 miljoonaa kappaletta. A Rush of blood to the head(2001-2004)

Coldplay palasi studioon lokakuussa 2001 ja alkoi työstää toista albumiaan. Tuottajana toimi taas Ken Nelson. A Rush of Blood to the Head julkaistiin elokuussa 2002. X&Y(2004-2006)

X&Y oli 30 maan albumilistojen kärjessä ja oli kolmanneksi nopeiten myyty albumi Britannian listahistoriassa. Samana vuonna albumilta julkaistiin vielä kaksi singleä: ”Fix You” syyskuussa ja ”Talk” joulukuussa. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2006–2009)

Yhtye aloitti neljännen studioalbuminsa, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friendsin, tekemisen lokakuussa 2006. Albumin tuottajaksi palkattiin Brian Eno. Coldplay piti taukoa albumin tekemiseltä alkuvuodesta 2007, ja lähti kiertueelle Latinalaiseen Amerikkaan: Chileen, Argentiinaan, Brasiliaan ja Meksikoon. Yhtyeen äänitettyä kiertueella kirkoissa ja muissa paikoissa Etelä-Amerikassa ja Espanjassa, Coldplay paljasti, että albumiin näytti tulevan latinalaisamerikkalaisia vaikutteita. Yhtye käytti loppuvuoden albumin äänittämiseen, pääosin Brian Enon kanssa.Martin kuvaili Viva la Vidaa Coldplayn uudeksi suunnaksi: muutokseksi kolmelta edelliseltä albumilta, joita yhtyeen jäsenet ovat pitäneet “trilogiana”. Renny Harlin

alkuperäinen nimi Lauri Mauritz Harjola, syntynyt 15. maaliskuuta 1959 Riihimäellä, hän on ollut vuodesta 1987 Harlin, Rennyn isän alkuperäinen sukunimi oli Harlin. Harlin tunnetaan elokuvistaan Jäätävä polte, Painajainen Elm Streetillä 4, Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger ja Deep Blue Sea. Renny Harlin asuu Los Angelesissa. Hän oli naimisissa näyttelijä Geena Davisin kanssa vuodesta 1993 vuoteen 1998 saakka. Harlinilla on yksi lapsi Luukas Mattison Mauritz, Syntynyt 1997 hänen entisen assistenttinsa Tiffany Bownen kanssa (1996–1997). Renny Harlin on ainoa suomalainen Hollywoodissa uraa luonut elokuvaohjaaja ja elokuvatuottaja, joka on menestynyt ulkomailla.

Valitsin artikkelini aiheeksi Renny Harlinin, sillä olen pitänyt aina hänen tekemistä elokuvistaan. Mielestäni parhain elokuva oli kuitenkin ”Deep Blue Sea”, sillä se on jännittävä ja siinä on onnellinen loppu.

Alexander Rybak

Euroviisujen 2009 voittaja Alexander Rybak (23), syntyi Valko -venäjällä 13. toukokuuta 1986, hän muutti neljä vuotiaana Norjaan perheensä kanssa, Silloin Alexander alkoi soittaa pianoa ja viulua, nykyään Alexander asuu Nesoddenissa, Norjan pääkaupungin oslon lähellä.

Rybak on 10-vuotiaasta lähtien opiskellut Oslossa Barratt Due Institute of Music-koulussa.

Alexander voitti 54. euroviisut Moskovassa, Venäjällä saatuaan yhteensä 387 pistettä, kappaleellaan Fairytale. Rybak rikkoi Lordin ennätyksen saatuaan ensimmäisenä yli 300 pistettä. Alexander kirjoitti ja sävelsi kappaleen itse. Nykyään Alexander Rybak on monien Suomalaisten idoli.
